Lori Mitchell-Gay as Tina Turner

A Powerful Tribute to the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll – Legends in Concert

Lori Mitchell-Gay brings the electrifying energy, powerhouse vocals, and commanding stage presence of Tina Turner to life in Legends in Concert. With every strut, note, and hair flip, Lori captures the essence of the legendary rock icon in a performance that is as soulful as it is unforgettable.

Originally from Philadelphia, Lori began her artistic journey at the Philadelphia Performing Arts School, where she majored in theater and minored in dance. Though she had no formal vocal training, her natural gift for singing emerged early through the church choir, nurtured by the influence of her mother, a performer, and her grandfather, who introduced her to a wide range of music styles.

After earning a scholarship to Emerson College, Lori later transferred to Temple University, where she graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her professional singing career began with the Top 40 group “High Energy,” where she honed the stage presence and charisma that now define her tribute performances.

Lori’s versatility is on full display in Legends in Concert—not only does she perform an exhilarating tribute to Tina Turner, but she also channels the grace and strength of Whitney Houston and the glamour of Diana Ross in other shows. When asked which icon she enjoys portraying the most, Lori reflects, “I don’t have a favorite—they are all extensions of myself.”

As Tina Turner, Lori unleashes raw energy and emotion in every show, thrilling audiences with classics like “Proud Mary,” “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” and “Simply the Best.” Her performances are a fitting tribute to one of the most iconic entertainers in music history—and a testament to Lori’s own extraordinary talent.
