Marva Scott is lighting up the stage with her sparkling tribute to Donna Summer appearing in the original celebrity tribute spectacular, Legends in Concert. Marva, who hails from Seattle, WA, where she was raised the only girl of four children, was born on April 22 (a Taurus). Her father, Reverend Charles C. Hedd of Tacoma, WA, was one of her earliest supporters allowing her to join the church choir at an early age.
Following a stint in college, Marva set off to become a singer by joining a musical theatre group in Seattle, but soon moved to Los Angeles to study voice with renowned voice coach, Seth Riggs. While in L.A., Marva formed her own touring band named, “Marva Scott’s Motor City Revue,” where she performed her first tribute show. To expand her horizons, she decided to visit Europe and Paris and for the next 10 months Ms. Scott was the featured singer on a popular sitcom, called “Aux Trois Mailletz.” Her performances in Paris led to an extended engagement at Caesars Palace in Atlantic City.
She is now a well-rounded entertainer having worked her way up through the ranks as a singer, dancer and actress. Today, her celebrity tributes include Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Diana Ross and Donna Summer. When asked about her upcoming tribute appearances, Marva says, “Being in a Legends in Concert production is the pinnacle for anyone who performs tribute’s as I do.”
