Rachel Knight, formerly performing under her maiden name, Rachel Cyprus, grew up in the greater Los Angeles area before moving to Las Vegas. For over a decade, Rachel has been performing as various tributes, including Madonna, Ann-Margret, and Marilyn Monroe, focusing on accurate re-creations including costuming, voice inflection, and choreography. She has extensive experience performing along with having a degree in Musical Theatre and a membership in the Screen Actors Guild.
The consummate entertainer from an early age, after seeing a Disney on Ice show at the age of 3 Rachel wanted to become an ice skater but first had to learn that all the arts take a lot of practice, and every skater falls and it hurts. Instead, she took up multiple styles of dance and then added ice skating and singing at the age of 5. From early on she liked to choose her own music and choreograph her own numbers leading her to become an accomplished choreographer for both skating and dance. She has continued her dance training with Galen Hooks, MTV VMA -nominated choreographer who has worked for Ne-yo, Janet Jackson,Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Rhianna, Usher, Chris Brown and more. She also continues her vocal training with Mindy Pack, who works with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Pharell Williams, Martina McBride, Kelly Rowland, Halsey and many more.
Rachel’s years as a figure skater put her in contact with many professional performers. Some of her highlights include performing in China as a guest skater at their Nationals the year before the 2008 Olympics, representing California at the State Games of America, performing stunt work in both movies and TV specials, along with performing for the L.A. Kings with her National and International winning ice theatre team, Los Angeles Ice Theater. One of Rachel’s proudest moments has been singing the “National Anthem” at major events. Another was when she was cast in an episode of Fox TV’s hit show, “Glee”, where she was dressed as Madonna. Her likeness was so strong Carnival Cruises contacted her to be the model for their 1984 “Like A Virgin” re-creation for their show.
Over the years Rachel has often performed and competed at singing events throughout California. Starting with a night of karaoke at the age of 5, Rachel was hooked on singing. A few years later she started becoming involved in local theatre productions. She quickly fell in love with the costumes, makeup, music, and having to always think on her feet. As Rachel got older she started competing in singing competitions throughout the state, winning an array of awards. She also had the honor of performing lead roles in a number of musicals including, Annie Oakley in “Annie Get Your Gun,” Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls,” and JJ in “Go Go Beach.”
At one of the singing events in LA, she became friends with a singer who was also a young ETA. He loved the song “The Lady Loves Me” and to set himself apart asked Rachel to perform it with him for fun. That was the start of what has become an integral part of her career performing as various tribute artists. She has an ever-expanding repertoire of Impersonations as well as the skill to bellydance as Little Egypt from the movie, “Roustabout” and the Elvis “ ’68 Comeback Special”.
An aspect of Rachel’s quirky personality is her love of performing comedy. Inspired by Scott Hamilton and Dan Hollander, Rachel has choreographed and performed award winning comedy routines. As her passion for comedy continued to grow, she co-founded the Sunny Side Up Improv Team and studied at Second City. In her teens, Rachel started training at the Academy of New Musical Theatre with Joshua Finkel (Broadway star and inspiration for Disney’s Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid) and Jake Anthony (Musical Director for New Musicals Inc. and Conductor/Guest Musical Director for Center Stage Opera). She continued her education with a degree in musical theatre during which time she co-starred with Joe Donohoe (Broadway touring company for “RENT”) and also performed with Dominic Pierson (Benny in the Broadway touring company of “In The Heights”).
Rachel’s interests lie well beyond performing as an impersonator, she is also active in aerial arts, bellydance, parkour, and rock climbing. In her free time she loves to hang out at the comic book shop or read sci-fi books at the library. Some of Rachel’s favorite authors and books include: Orson Scott Card, Larry Niven, Lord of the Rings Series, and Alice in Wonderland. Visiting fountain pen stores, websites, and conventions to pick up new fountain pens and inks to add to her ever expanding collection is one of Rachel’s favorite hobbies. She even created a YouTube channel teaching nerd art, mixed media, and calligraphy to children. Because of her love of inspiring kids, she has taught ice skating, art, and glee along with volunteering for Special Olympics. Finally, her concern for shelter animals has led her to adopt 3 wonderful cats: King Arthur, Sir Galahad, and Merlin.
Rachel Knight is a well-rounded entertainer with a broad range of experience singing, dancing, and acting and is honored to have been chosen to continue her performing career for Legends in Concert portraying Madonna, “The Queen Of Pop!”
